Actively advancing the development of the SOILS4MED Soil Information System (SIS)

📣 In recent weeks, the SOILS4MED project has been actively advancing the development of the 𝗦𝗢𝗜𝗟𝗦𝟰𝗠𝗘𝗗 𝗦𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 (𝗦𝗜𝗦).

🎯 A core goal of the project is to create and implement standardized country-level 𝗦𝗜𝗦 for the efficient management and use of soil data and information.

💻 From 9–12 February, we met at our partner institution, The University of Jordan – الجامعة الأردنية in Amman, Jordan, for a dedicated SIS training course for data managers and system administrators from project partner countries, particularly those from the Middle East and North Africa. The training was delivered by our partner CRS4.

🧑‍💻 The sessions for data managers focused on creating, managing, publishing, and accessing soil data within the SIS, while system administrators received hands-on training on the installation, configuration, maintenance, and security of the platform.

📅 This week (23-26 February), another SIS training is taking place in Sardinia, Italy, at CRS4 headquarters for participants from other partner countries, particularly from Europe. More updates will follow soon.
